Social News- DIGG

DIGG.com is an amazing news site that contains many different types of websites. Generally speaking it is a strong website with a large viewership. It is fairly easy to use as it is click and go. Strengths of this website include a large amount of different information categorized by topic. It is easy to find something that will interest everyone. On the other hand it can take up to 4 clicks to get to what you want to see. Other weaknesses are the commenting feature which can be difficult to find depending on the link. Some of the comments are pointless and they are not monitored. Overall, Digg is a great website that I check on a daily basis.

Mobile Tech

Zmick Tour Tracker

This potential iPhone application is a continuation of how to use new media and technology to advance Zmick as a band and a profitable entity. This application would have a list of tourdates and locations, ability to show a map, and ability pinpoint where the band has "checked in". This application would allow fans to know that Zmick has checked into the venue "on-time" or "Late".

One example of the Location Data use could be: If Zmick was traveling from Chicago to Urbana for a show that is starting at 7:30 and they "check in" at 6:00 at the Canopy Club then all their fans know the show should start on time. Or if they "check in" at 7:45 then the fans will know they are running late.

This application would be free and supported by ads. We would look to keep ads within the Genre of the music business so they would be relevant to our consumer. Ads will appear at the top of the screen (in the black space above "Tour Dates") and will not be overly intrusive to the application.

ZMICK wears a Turtleneck in the Canopy

On Saturday over 300 people packed into the canopy club in Urbana to see Zmick Rage on the Main Stage. The show was high energy, the dance floor was packed and there were some really heddy vibes coming out of the speakers. Donny, playing the keys, was really getting into the music, Brad and Dan were really feeding off each others energy and Kris, Drums, well lets just say he had an amazing time banging on his drums. There was no one in the crowd who wasn't atleast bobbin' their head, but most were full on dancing for almost all of the 2 hour set. The new Sexy Crazy Remix was really sweet and the sound guy used some really dope effects. Dan Wonsover claimed there was someone in the crowd who really threw his concentration off, we won't say who here... Special props if you traveled to see the show, I think it really paid off . If you want to get yourself a copy of the show Visit Archive.org and download it! Summer Camp, You best be looking to add Zmick to the bill ASAP!!!
